Just sitting on a bench while feeling the pleasant sea breeze or relaxing on the grass lets you forget the hustle and bustle of the city and refresh yourself.

The Striking Important Cultural Property “Hikawa Maru,” Carrying the History of Yokohama Port into the Present

Its large hull floating on the sea catches the eye, making it the symbol of Yamashita Park. You can look up at this luxury liner—once praised as the “Queen of the North Pacific”—from right up close, and take in its overwhelming scale just by walking nearby. You can also go inside and tour the luxurious guest rooms and pilot house from those days (admission fee required).

A Cafe with a Perfect Location and a Panoramic View of Stunning Minato Mirai Scenery

Within the park, there is a stylish cafe where you can look out beautifully across the water at the skyscrapers and giant Ferris wheel of Minato Mirai. You can take an elegant break with a drink or sweet treat between strolls while gazing at the sophisticated, uniquely Yokohama scenery.

Located in Yamashitacho, Naka-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, this park stretching along the coast is within walking distance of several stations.

The closest is “Motomachi-Chukagai Station” on the Minato Mirai Line, about a 3-minute walk from Exit 4 (Marine Tower Exit). It also takes about 15 minutes on foot from both “Kannai Station” and “Ishikawacho Station” on the JR Negishi Line, passing Yokohama Stadium or Chinatown along the way.

If you take the Minato Mirai Line from the major terminal “Yokohama Station,” you can reach the nearest station smoothly in about 8 minutes of riding time.
