Since 2014, I’ve been traveling to Vietnam, and lately, whenever I get three or more consecutive days off, you can spot me roaming around places like Sapporo (Hokkaido), Hakata, Iwate, Vietnam, or Thailand.

My favorite motto is “Good things come to those who wait” (Japanese: Kaho wa nete mate), but ironically, I love moving around so much that I barely have time to sleep! Another famous Japanese saying is “Lucky peonies falling from a shelf” (meaning getting unexpected windfalls), but if a random rice cake fell out of nowhere, I definitely wouldn’t eat it – I’d be too busy wondering, “Wait, how long has that even been sitting there?!” That’s exactly the kind of busy, fun-filled life I lead every day.

Meet Maari, our camp-loving Special Correspondent! She works nearly every single day without a break, but the moment she gets any time off—even if it’s at a moment’s notice for the very next day—she is instantly off to the campsites. That is how much she loves camping!

Whenever we go camping together, she is the most reliable companion you could ask for, always setting up tents for everyone in the group.

Check out Maari’s Ameba Blog, “The Lonely Messenger of Love” (Kodoku na Ai no Dendoshi).

Rere-nee also holds the utmost respect for the legendary Dr. Kureha (from ONE PIECE).
